Zayaan Khan works as a transdisciplinary artist with land, seed and food to forward sociopolitical, ecological and spiritual political perspective. Her work has taught her to understand time/s and do so by using plants, salt, clay, and water in their many biodiverse manifestations and into their myriad of relations and uses.
She is completing her PhD through the Environmental Humanities South at the University of Cape Town, research entitled, From seed-as-object to seed-as-relation. Together with Melanie Boehi, she curates the Centre for Plant Interpretation.
